In this episode we will create a basic page for a bio and class schedule. We will explore adding simple text, adding a table, and changing the URL. Running time: approx. 5 mins.

Hello everyone and welcome to another Tech Time with Tim today we'll be going over adding a bio to our new website our first step is going to be to log in to log in navigate to your school's website and scroll to the very bottom click on the Login link in the lower left-hand corner this will take you to the login screen if you have forgotten your password or have not logged in yet click on this Forgot Password? link and enter your school email address you will shortly receive an email with a password reset link once you login click on pages for the sake of this tutorial I'm pretending as though I have never logged in before you may or may not have a page here already to add a new page click on the add page button we are going to add a blank page the first thing you should do is give your page a title I'm naming mine About Me once you do that I recommend hitting save this will create your page and insert it on to the website now we can add some content the way that this system works is by what's called blocks you can add content blocks media blocks or files they will stack on top of each other and display differently on cell phones then they will on a computer so let's add some content click on the content button this gives you your first block here is where you can add a little bio about yourself I'm going to copy and paste mine in the interest of time once that is done once again hit save now we are going to add a schedule so lets create another block once again your block is created and you can enter some content to make things look a little bit nicer this time I'm going to add a table by clicking on this button up here I can insert a table now I will populate it once I entered my content now I'm going to adjust the table a little bit I'm going to shrink this column and shrink the overall table as well now I'm going to get rid of all the lines to do that I can go to the table properties button by clicking that grid button and under the border width I'm going to change that to zero and under Advanced I'm going to say no border once I save that you can see that the lines disappear now I am going to save it all right now that I have my basic information there I'm going to take a look at what it will look like to the public by clicking on this public link you can view your page it's looking okay I think I can make it look a little bit nicer so let's go back I'm going to add a space here to bring the table down a little bit I didn't really like how this lined up so I am going to increase my sizes here again also I'm going to draw attention to my header row here I'm going to highlight them and make the font bold and I'm also we're going to make the text underlined what's a little bit nicer also I noticed that it was pretty close to the About Me so I'm going to drop this whole thing down a line as well and I'll save let's take another look a little trick to reload pages is to hold the shift key on your keyboard and click on the reload button that will force it to reload the page all right how it turned out however I'm going to do one more thing back here in the editing section you'll notice that this public link is a bit of a mouthful we can actually change that if we go up here to actions and page options and then click on this little pencil button it will allow us to change the last part of the URL I'm just going to make it my username scroll down and click save and save again that is much better that concludes my video please stay tuned for some more instructional videos for the web pages and so much more thanks for watching
