Timothy David Oliveira

Hello World!

My name is Tim Oliveira.  I am an Arcata High School graduate (class of '02).  I attended Chico State University after graduating.  I took my time getting my degree and floated around the Chico area for several years before returning to Humboldt County.  I ended up getting my degree in Network Administration from ITT Technical Institute.

I started working for the Northern Humboldt Union High School District as a Training Specialist for NHES.  For a short time I worked a second job as a part time custodian at Jacoby Creek Elementary.  This continued until I secured a part time computer technician position at Fortuna High School.

I was part of a two person IT team that were brought on within a few months of each other.  My superior, Derek DenOuden, and I quickly earned a positive reputation; I was brought up to full time within a month and later was a part of an initiative to expand our services to surrounding schools.  I was the face of the initiative, working on site and with the staff directly to meet the needs of educational technologies.  Our work in the Eel River Valley area earned a positive reputation and helped to strengthen the loosening bonds between districts and county.  I am very proud of our work there.

I moved over to Northern Humboldt Union in 2016 to work under Todd Curry.  Throughout the year I began to take the reigns of leadership from Mr. Curry.  I was welcomed and empowered by the incredible staff here; I replaced Todd as the Director of Technology in the Summer of 2017 and am proud to be the current face of technology for the district.
