About Our Superintendent
Roger Macdonald serves the Northern Humboldt Union High School District as Superintendent. A graduate of the California State University at Chico with degrees in Intercultural Geography and Social Science, he earned his teaching credential at St. Mary's College in Moraga then picked up his administrative services credential and Masters of Science degree at the former California State University, Hayward.
Mr. Macdonald began his career in the San Francisco East Bay teaching English, Social Science and ELD at Antioch High School, matriculated to Park Middle School as vice principal then served as principal at O’Hara Park Middle School in Oakley. There he began his service to Northern Humboldt as principal at McKinleyville High School for five years prior to his appointment as superintendent.
Roger strives to lead with an equity facing lens and very much enjoys working with high school students. This is such an important time in their lives and he knows how impactful the high school experience is.
When not working Roger loves to spend time with his girls, golfing, reading, fishing, hiking and cycling among the Redwoods and along the rugged Pacific coast.
